Become Pakistani!

Pakistan was founded  with the fundamental principle that we are all citizens and equal citizens of one State.

''We are now all Pakistanis--not Baluchis, Pathans, Sindhis, Bengalis, Punjabis and so on--and as Pakistanis we must feet behave and act, and we should be proud to be known as Pakistanis and nothing else''-Quaid-e-Azam.

Today we all have forgot the above quoted saying of Baba-e-Qaum and discriminate each other on regional basis. This discrimination is not just done by the common public but even by our govt officials and political leaders who are administrating this country.

The point to consider is that we people our fighting with each other on the provincial issues and not coping with each other to to solve bigger issues that will lead our country to the road of prosperity and peace.Instead  of giving preference to those projects which are more beneficial for the whole country, the provincial authorities support those projects which are rewarding them and their province only.

Just talk about the  Kalabagh Dam.The Kalabagh dam is a proposed hydroelectric dam on the Indus River at Kalabagh in Mianwali District of the Punjab province in Pakistan. The project has been controversial since its inception.Every province have different point of view and make comparisons about the benefits that different provinces will get out of that and don't consider the outcomes that this dam will give to our economy. The energy crisis can be reduced to great extent and this will revive our textile and other industries, collapsed because of power shortages and results in high level of employments and will help to stabilize the economy.

We need to get united under one flag to regain our dignity in the world.

Important points of Jinnah which need to be followed

Advice to students
Jinnah placed great importance on the youth and gave his advice to students on several occasions. At a public meeting in Dhaka on March 21, 1948, he said:

“My young friends, students who are present here, let me tell you as one who has always had love and affection for you, who has served you for ten years faithfully and loyally, let me give you this word of warning: you will be making the greatest mistake if you allow yourself to be exploited by one political party or another…. Your main occupation should be — in fairness to yourself, in fairness to your parents, in fairness to the state – to devote your attention to your studies.”

Leaders of tomorrow

Addressing the Punjabi Muslim Students Federation at Lahore on October 31, 1947, Jinnah said:

“Pakistan is proud of her youth, particularly the students who have always been in the forefront in the hour of trial and need. You are the nation’s leaders of tomorrow and you must fully equip yourself by discipline, education and training for the arduous task lying ahead of you. You should realise the magnitude of your responsibility and be ready to bear it.”
Equality
Jinnah always spoke in favour of equality, fraternity, human rights, rights of minorities, justice, freedom, integrity and fair play. He very clearly stated that Pakistan was not going to be a theocratic state as Islam demands from us tolerance of other creeds and we welcome the closest association of all those who are willing and ready to play their part as true and loyal citizens of Pakistan.

THIS IS NOT FLOOD, THIS IS TSUNAMI

Finally, the revolution has come to Pakistan. The chairman of the party, Imran Khan succeeds in gathering thousands and thousands of Pakistani who actually wants to see a change in Pakistan. Intelligence sources said that between 65,000 and 70,000 attended the rally, while PTI’s deputy information secretary claimed the figure was over 100,000. Journalists’ counts ranged from 60,000 to 70,000 people.

Imran said the gathering was the fruit of his 15 years of work in politics. With the support of the youth, he said, the political status quo in Pakistan could be broken up. He also shed light on the choice of Lahore as the venue for the rally, referring to Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah starting his movement for Pakistan from the same city. As a further warning to his political rivals, Khan declared: “Those in Raiwind and Islamabad should know that it is not a flood that is coming, but a tsunami.”

He said his party would form a special cell to probe assets owned by politicians in the country, adding that the PTI is ready to go to the Supreme Court to demand an independent election commission.

The former cricketer also outlined a 10-point agenda from his party, which he termed the only solution to the country’s current problems. The rally had an electric atmosphere, certainly aided by the large presence of the youth. In parts it had elements of a rock festival, as musicians, including Shehzad Roy, performed at the jalsa.

PTI’s 10-point programmes:
·     Khan vowed that if PTI came to power, it would end power crisis through coal reserves and by enhancing the capacity of generation plants.
·        Khan said that Rs3, 000 billion is wasted every year due to corruption, and stated his party would end Pakistan’s biggest problem while also bringing back foreign assets lying in Swiss banks.
·       The party would wipe out all ‘Patwaris’ through computerized systems. Khan said that people in villages live like slaves due to corrupt Patwaris and police.
·   The PTI would devise a new local government system which would enhance education and health in villages.
·        He said the PTI would also ensure rights for Baluchistan and end to target killings. Khan said his party would talk with Akhtar Mengal and the son of the Nawab of Kalat in this regard.
·        On terrorism, Khan termed the ‘war on terror’ as the US’ war and vowed to hang all those responsible for the deaths of 35,000 innocent Pakistanis. He said that there are one million armed people in the tribal areas who, if drone attacks stopped, would happily remove terrorists living in their areas. Khan added that the PTI would withdraw the military from the tribal areas.
·      On foreign policy, he said that his party would extend friendship to the US, but not at the cost of the country’s sovereignty – and would prefer to have close ties with China.
·    Regarding Kashmir, Khan said that he would convince India to withdraw its military from the disputed region and start negotiations with Kashmiri leaders.
·        He also said that the PTI would ensure the rights of minorities and laborers in the country, as well as empowering women through education.

In the end, I would say that I myself am a voter of Imran khan as I, like the other Pakistani citizens , am fed up of seeing the two leading and corrupted parties coming into the power and stand for nothing. We Pakistani people should understand now that the change is not coming, it has already come and this is a shining moment for all of us. Be proud to have a leader like Imran khan who is making day-night efforts to save our homeland and who is fighting for our rights.

Be proud to be a Pakistani and a part of PTI

My Country, My Home.

John. F. Kennedy said "Ask not what your country can for you. Ask what you can do for your country."

What does it mean to be a nation? Is a nation simply comprised of individuals inhabiting the same land? People who have just one thing in common between them: they happened to be born in the same country. Does a nation keep living its everyday life when its country faces turmoil and crisis after crisis? Ask yourself, is that a nation? Are you part of such a nation?

We complain about the problems of our country. We complain about the political parties, we complain about the electricity shortages, we complain about the pollution, we complain about the people in power. We complain. That is all we seem to do. Our biggest fault, and consequently our biggest tragedy, is how jaded we seem to have become. They say, "When the going gets tough, the tough get going." We, on the other hand, become apathetic. And this apathy leads to inertia. We are in a deep slumber.

Wake up , fellow countrymen! Our country needs us. Whatever happened to youth being the future of our nation? Is our future really that bleak? No, it is not!

And if someone does want to know what our country has done for us, the answer should be clear. It has given us a home. And that is the most important gift anyone can be given. We have an identity, a sense of belonging. We have freedom. And that does not mean that it is always going to be perfect. We have to fulfil our Quaid's dream to transform our country into the perfect nation that it deserves to be. We, the youth, have a hard task ahead of us. Our work has been cut out for us.

Recently, Imran Khan held a rally in Lahore. I will proclaim that I am, in fact, a supporter of Imarn Khan and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (P.T.I.). And it heartened me to see how many youngsters were present at the rally. It brings me hope that change is coming, change is near. But let's not expect just Imran Khan to bring change. That lies within all of us. Mahatama Gandhi said "Be the change you want to see in the world". Let's not wait for others to initiate. If somebody has to start, why not us? No amount of effort is too little. No amount of effort is too much. Our home needs us. Revolution does not always need to be bloody. If Alama Iqbal can spur the creation of Pakistan through poetry, then why can't we through simple acts like peaceful demonstrations, articles, songs , poetry, etc? The time is now. Let's take a stand.

So, referring back to my original question, what does it, then, mean to be a nation? A nation is not made up of individuals, but it is a collective whole. A nation is one, where everyone stands together through all trials and tribulations. It is a family, where all the members realize that they need to protect their home. I shall proudly proclaim at this very moment that I am a part of this family. "Pakistan" is on my passport, my ID card, my driver's licence, my heart and in my blood. It is my identity. It is my home.

PAKISTAN ZINDABAD!
